Stop the Hate in the 918

When/Where: Noon-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, Case Community Center, 1050 W. Wekiwa Road, Sand Springs.

Cost: Tattoo coverup services are free. There may be costs associated with some vendors.

Plenty to do while you wait

Max Ackley, the Parlour’s “front desk guy,” has been hard at work lining up a variety of great things to be held in conjunction with the Stop the Hate event.

Besides the ink work, attendees can take part in a blood drive through the Oklahoma Blood Institute, check out the Express Personnel job fair or snap a selfie with UFC fighter Jimmy “The Brick” Flick.

The Sand Springs Police and Fire Departments will go head to head in a chili cookoff, and a DJ will be playing tunes and hosting karaoke.

Ackley says he’d be happy to hear from any additional vendors, food trucks or volunteers who’d like to participate. He can be reached at the Parlour at 918-245-3332.
